Endorsements
Boulder Daily Camera:
The Camera endorses Bob Muckle for mayor. Muckle, who has served on council for six years, has been at the forefront of helping to keep Louisville's historic character and small town charm. The delightful downtown district -- quietly, the envy of many other nearby small cities and towns -- is a testament to the worth of that vision. And as a business owner, he has a practical approach.
Yellow Scene:
YS votes for Bob Muckle who we feel is constantly pushing for improved governance.

- Excellence in Government
"For me Louisville is all about a small town community. We need to respect our heritage and build on our success. I think my philosophy of municipal government is actually more important than my support for any particular issue. I believe in representing the concerns and interests of Louisville citizens and businesses. I believe in making decisions based on facts and sound information wherever possible, rather than based on ideology."

Boulder Daily Camera
By Erika Stutzman
"For Ward 1, the Camera endorses incumbent Bob Muckle . . . Muckle was instrumental in passing the city`s historic preservation tax, a creative incentive to help businesses and homeowners preserve historic features of their buildings—but only if they so choose. He offered solid ideas about budget cuts during this tough economy." (October 4, 2009)
Louisville Times
"Elect Muckle to Louisville council."
"Muckle, should receive favorable consideration for election by voters."
"Muckle has represented Ward I on council since 2005, and has also served as the Open Space Advisory Board chairman and Louisville Water Committee chairman. He is Louisville's representative on the Denver Regional Council of Governments."
"His emphasis on a retaining small-town character and facilitating of historic preservation opportunities for both homeowners and businesses has helped to establish Main and Front streets as regional civic attractions. His priorities are a good fit to represent Ward I."
"Muckle has a track record of taking a case-specific approach to each business and development decision brought before council and has played a part in Louisville's relative economic stability during the recession." (October 21, 2009)
Boulder Weekly
"Incumbent Robert Muckle . . . has impressed us with his representation of the community through his neighborhood involvement and curbside recycling and composting which has aided the city of Louisville. Yellow Scene
"We feel that Muckle has his priorities in order and is ready to balance his preservationist pursuits with helping to work toward successful development and dealing with a shrinking budget while maintaining services and the community events for which Louisville is known." (October 2009)
Bob Gets Things Done
- Initiated, drafted, and successfully campaigned for Louisville's new historic preservation fund.
- Suggested improvements to Memory Square Pool and staunchly supports keeping it open.
- Made sure the City's Comprehensive Plan more accurately reflects the community's values by:
- Removing housing proposed for McCaslin Blvd. and the ConocoPhillips property. Those areas are now designated for sales tax generating retail and office development.
- Adding environmental sustainability principles.
- Limiting building heights to 3 stories in the Highway 42 area.
- Guided approval of limited residential developments that:
- support downtown businesses.
- create open space buffers and expand trail corridors.
Bob Listens and Responds to Citizens and Businesses
- Supported citizen-driven initiative for citywide curbside recycling and proposed adding curbside composting. As a result, Louisville is sending almost 50% less trash to landfills.
- Listened to concerns of business owners potentially affected by urban redevelopment and Highway 42 expansion, and crafted solutions.
- Represented the interests of neighborhood groups affected by proposed developments (Cottonwood and Gateway) in Ward 1.
- Strong Advocate for a Vibrant Downtown
